Are you ready to grow in the word with your sisters?
AT PEACE? WOMEN’S RETREAT is a half day retreat for women held annually on the first Saturday of October. The first retreat was held in 2009. Since then, the Lord has blessed us each year and we look forward to sharing God’s love for many years to come. The retreat is:
- A day to understand and enhance our understanding of God’s Word.
- An opportunity to bask in God’s grace.
- A relaxing day of fellowship with your sisters in Christ.

Peace Women’s Ministry is excited to announce the return of the at peace women’s retreat on October 5. We’ve revamped the format to be a half day session followed by lunch to allow us to focus on a central speaker and theme. This year’s theme is: “He is in Control” based on Psalm 118, which reminds us to trust Him in times of distress and to take joy and strength in Him. Christian therapist Julie Straseske LPC from Christian Family Solutions will lead us in a discussion of mental health, stress and anxiety, and finding peace in Christ.
Julie Straseske Biography
Julie joined Christian Family Solutions as an intern in 2015, and as an employee in 2016. She received her BA in Psychology and Theology from Wisconsin Lutheran College, and her MA in Clinical Psychology from Cardinal Stritch University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Wisconsin. Julie specializes in counseling adolescents, young adults, and women. Areas of specialty include depression, anxiety, relational issues, self-worth, and perinatal mental health.
Evangelism and mission work are close to Julie’s heart, as she has participated in mission work throughout the country and overseas. She strives to share the same hope of the gospel with her clients at Christian Family Solutions, while integrating research-based counseling techniques. Julie implements Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and several other approaches into counseling sessions.
Julie has had the privilege of counseling clients in outpatient, college, and group home settings. Julie deeply believes that the foundation to therapy is a strong, open, and caring relationship between client and therapist.
“Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” —Isaiah 40:31
